TRIP TO INDIA FUNDRAISER
Chaplain Judy has always been a visionary and looks for ways to be used in ministry and reaching out to help heal hurting humanity for women. Most recently, Captive Hearts opened its vision to those held in bondage in the sex trade and is working with women who have been trafficked. Her desire is that people will receive knowledge of this horrendous epidemic, not only in our communities, but around the world.
Recently through a dear friend, Dr. Gregory Heyart, Judy was introduced to Pastor Sabyasachi Chowdhury and his wife, Sarita, who live and work in Anugrah, India. She has been invited by the pastors to travel with Dr. Heyart and “Heal Our World,” team of doctors and nurses who will serve approximately 11 days working in the medical clinic treating the sick. The money raised is specifically for the trip, food, hotels, essentials, transport fees, etc. ($6,000).
Judy and her sister, Deb Smith, will be ministering in 11 established churches, holding two seminars and will be teaching from a curriculum she has authored, “The Face of Grace”. This study allows women to see themselves as God sees them. She will also be reaching out to the women who work in the brothels as prostitutes.
Pastor Chowdhury wants to see these women who are in the sex trade and in the brothels come out into the mainstream of life by doing something with their hands and earning their own living. They will be establishing a “Safe House” and want a rehabilitation center to house the women and their children who now live in the brothels. Judy is raising her funds in order to travel to India in January 2020 and asks that you consider sending an offering that will enable her to go. Half of this amount must be paid within the next month with the balance in November.
We will be looking into purchasing sewing machines, thread and clothing—materials that the women might be able to sew clothes, crafts, purses and other items that can be sold for their monthly provisions.
Judy asks that donors who give, please do not slack on your monthly giving to Captive Hearts, as this trip is paid solely by raised funds to send her and are tax deductible when given through Captive Hearts, but earmarked “TRIP TO INDIA”.
Will you pray about partnering with her so that she might fulfill the vision of “going into ALL the world and teaching the Gospel to every person.”
